Event description
Presented by Dr Sophie Hindes, Research Fellow at the Australian Centre for Sex, Health and Society, La Trobe University.
In this talk, Sophie shares a set of findings from their research project Beyond Consent: Queer Insights on Negotiating Sex, focusing on how autism and other forms of neurodivergence intersect with sexuality to shape experiences of negotiating sex. The presentation explores how neurodivergence and queer sexuality can disrupt normative models of gendered performance and expectations around consent, offering alternative ways of expressing gender and sexuality and communicating with sexual partners.
