Never the Sinner
Event description
Reverie Theatre Group presents Never The Sinner by John Logan; Directed by Nicholas D'Amico
A dramatic retelling of the story of Leopold and Loeb, Never the Sinner centers on one of America’s first nationally followed murder trials. Two young men set out with the goal to enact the perfect crime, both motivated by separate ideals. Their arrogance would not only become their ultimate downfall, but the focus of a nation on what could motivate two people to kill for nothing more than the thrill of it all. The trial and sensationalism surrounding the case is brought to life by women reporters, who provide a glimpse into the day-to-day courtroom dynamics and legal arguments, all while embodying the national curiosity, skepticism, and intense judgment toward the defendants.
Never the Sinner runs March 27-29 & April 4-6, 2025 at 134 Collaborative (Bill Hutchinson Theater) at the Mathewson Street Church, 134 Mathewson Street, Providence, Rhode Island 02903.
