This series of workshops has been designed in consultation with industry. The series is designed to allow participants to gain an understanding of how to lead others in the workplace.
Workshop topics have been selected based on identified development needs for new and emerging supervisors, team leaders and those in a position that oversees others. Participants will have the opportunity to access individual support to assist implementation of workshop content as part of the series. More information.
Workshop 1: Communicate with Influence
8th November 2024, 10.00 am -12:30pm
This workshop focuses on key aspects of effective and professional communication. Participants will develop a strong understanding of how effective communication can potentially avoid conflict and diffuse conflict situations.
Workshop 2: New Leader Essentials
22nd November 2024, 9:30am -12:30pm
This workshop introduces the key leadership essentials, themes and issues, based on industry consultation. This course is essential for those who want to understand the foundations of being an effective team leader or supervisor.
The workshop includes understanding what motivates individuals and how to facilitate appropriate communication with, and between, a diverse team.
Workshop 3: Creating a Respectful Workplace
6th December 2024, 9:30am -12:30pm
Everyone has a role to play in the creation and maintenance of a positive work environment free of negative workplace behaviours, especially the leader!
This workshop covers not only relevant legal framework, but the importance of understanding acceptable standards, the role of perception, and what you can do to support an inclusive and respectful workplace where people feel valued. The aim is to create a lasting behaviour change by increasing staff awareness, understanding, capability and confidence in building and maintaining respectful workplaces.
Workshop 4: Proactive Performance Management
9th December 2024, 9:30am -12:30pm
This workshop has been developed to assist new leaders to better identify, act upon and manage performance and interpersonal issues in the workplace.
Workshop 5: Managing Workplace Stress
16th December 2024, 9:30am - 12:30pm
This workshop aims to explore strategies to build resilience in the workplace and implement strategies to manage priorities more effectively.
