Insights from social policy research on communities and COVID
Event description
Insights from social policy research on communities and COVID
A Seminar for government policy analysts, researchers, data analysts and operational advisors by ComVoices
Morning tea and lunch is provided.
Postponed from earlier this year, this free half day seminar will address the question: how can you access, support, and create social policy research that is representative of communities and practical for policy makers?
The seminar’s first part will begin with a grounding in social policy research from a community perspective. This will include an overview of the value and breadth of the community and voluntary sector. The final part of this section is an explanation of how kaupapa Māori and community research differs from the research provided by large consultancies and academics and the integrity of access it can provide to the community.
The second half of the seminar is a panel of NZ community and academic researchers. Speakers will briefly outline their COVID-relevant research for particular communities and themes. This will be followed by a facilitated discussion about the suggested practical and applied policy response to the research.
This seminar is brought to you by ComVoices - a network of national and regional community sector peak bodies.
Limited tickets available.
