4th New Horizons Summit
Event description
Description:
The New Horizons Summit is a curated, one-day gathering of 150 invited leaders from government, industry, research, and emerging ventures. Designed as a high-impact forum for strategic dialogue, the summit focuses on defining Australia’s role in the future of lunar supply chains, space infrastructure, and off-world sustainability.
This year’s summit features a unique fusion of international companies and diplomatic representatives, highlighting key strategic regional relationships in a joint session presented in partnership with the United Nations Association of Australia. With a strong emphasis on cross-sector collaboration, the event brings together expertise from mining, energy, robotics, and space to explore how Australia’s terrestrial strengths can accelerate global space missions. This diplomacy session also serves as a timely warm-up ahead of the International Astronautical Congress (IAC), offering a platform for aligning priorities and strengthening regional cooperation in space.
Purpose:
The purpose of the New Horizons Summit is to position Australia as a meaningful contributor to sustainable space exploration by:
Showcasing Australia’s strengths in remote operations, advanced logistics, and autonomous systems to support international space efforts
Fostering cross-sector partnerships that unlock dual-use innovation and enable rapid deployment of infrastructure solutions
Catalysing national and regional collaboration around lunar mission readiness, space self-sufficiency, and long-term off-world resilience
Embedding Australia into the strategic and operational fabric of space exploration, not just as a participant but as a core enabler of mission-critical systems
