    Event description

Embark on a transformative journey with a series of four guided restorative yoga sessions held on the new moon, enhanced by the practice of seasonal mindfulness journaling, hosted on the tranquil grounds of a private farm in East Haddam by yogi Kirstina Giliberto. This distinctive experience offers a serene escape to relax at the end of the day and connect with your inner wisdom.

Restorative yoga, a gentle form of yoga, focuses on passive stretching to slow down and open your body. It's accessible to all skill levels. Characterized by its calming nature, restorative yoga involves holding poses (asanas) for extended periods with the support of props like yoga blocks, blankets, and bolsters. This deeply relaxing practice highlights the meditative side of yoga, fostering a harmonious connection between body and mind. The supportive props allow for an almost effortless maintenance of postures, facilitating deep relaxation.

The New Moon marks the beginning of the lunar cycle, a time when the night sky is at its darkest and the energy is at its lowest. From a scientific perspective, the alignment of the sun, moon, and earth during this phase is such that the sunlight illuminates the side of the moon facing away from the earth. Consequently, the moon becomes invisible to us in the night sky.

This period marks a potent opportunity for setting intentions. The enveloping darkness invites us to turn inward, prompting a reflective examination of our successes and areas for improvement across various facets of our lives. It's a moment to rely on our intuition and honor our current emotional state. By dedicating time to introspection and intention-setting during the New Moon, we lay a solid foundation for future progress.

Aligned with the new moon at sunset, this series presents a tranquil practice aimed at guiding women toward peace and relaxation by fostering a profound bond with nature. As the sun descends, painting the sky with its vibrant hues and emanating a calming energy, it creates an ideal setting for reflection and mindfulness. For those in search of serenity in their daily lives, this practice offers numerous advantages, such as enhancing relaxation, boosting mental health, and enriching self-awareness.
