Southern Ports is offering the opportunity to see the Port of Bunbury like never before with its Community Boat Tours!

TOUR SCHEDULE



Dates:                                Friday 10 October and Saturday 11 October
Times:                                Tours running hourly between 9am and 4.30pm, please arrive 15 minutes prior.
Duration:     45 minutes (including boarding and disembarkation).
Location:                         Departure from Dolphin Discovery Centre. Check-in required at Southern Ports marquee located adjacent to shade sail at the top of the stairs in front of the centre.
Cost:                                  Gold coin donation on arrival, proceeds go to Foodbank.
Security requirements:        Photo ID required upon check-in for all adults. Tickets mandatory. 

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

If the weather is bad, will the tour still run?
Yes, the tour will run unless extreme weather conditions are forecast. In the event of extreme weather, Southern Ports will provide 24 hours’ notice of cancellation.

What do I need to wear?
We recommend bringing sun protection, a warm jacket and wearing comfortable enclosed shoes. Please note the boat has one deck with no inside area.

Can I bring food and drink on board?
Yes, you can bring small snack foods and enclosed drinking vessels. Please no plastic wrappers. Please note this is an alcohol, smoking and vape free event.

Will people with mobility issues be able to board the boat?
If you have mobility issues, please make yourself known to our friendly staff who will arrange early boarding. Please note boarding is from the beach in front of the centre. If you have any concerns, please email us at comms@southernports.com.au

Is the tour wheelchair accessible?
Boarding access is via the beach, followed by a step up onto the vessel. Wheelchairs can be brought to the boat to assist with boarding, but they cannot remain on board during the cruise. Please note:

• Staff are unable to lift passengers due to Occupational Health and Safety regulations.

• Sand conditions can vary and may be soft or boggy. We recommend at least two people assist when moving a wheelchair across the sand.

• We have two types of beach wheelchairs are available for use:

  • Blue water-accessible wheelchair (can enter shallow water)

  • White beach-access wheelchair (for sand use only)

• During spring, cruises may depart from an alternate location near Koolambidi Woola (Bunbury SkatePark). This location has limited accessibility for people with mobility issues.

Does the boat have toilet facilities?
Yes, the boat has toilet facilities on board, however these are not wheelchair accessible.

Can I bring children?
Yes, children are welcome to join the tour but must be supervised by an adult. The boat cannot accommodate prams and pushers. Infants are welcome on board but will need to be accounted for in allocation numbers – please ensure you book a ticket for all children and infants attending. Please let our friendly team know if you require assistance boarding.

What information do I need to provide to book tickets?
When you book your ticket you'll need to provide your name, email address and phone number. On the day, you'll need to provide Photo ID for all adults for security purposes.
