Primary Schools Walk for Reconciliation | Kaarta Koomba (Kings Park)

Are you ALL IN?

Earlier this year, thousands of people came together during National Reconciliation Week and said yes. Now we’re bringing that energy to Kaarta Koomba (Kings Park) for the 2026 Walk for Reconciliation, and we’d love your school community to be part of it.

What to Expect

The day will begin with a Welcome to Country by a Noongar Elder, bringing students together to acknowledge Country and celebrate the importance of culture, community and connection.

During their 30-minute session, students will take part in guided experiences that include knowledge sharing, singing and activities led by Aboriginal community members. These experiences are designed to encourage learning, curiosity and respectful engagement with Aboriginal cultures and perspectives.

The event provides a welcoming opportunity for students to listen, learn and reflect as part of their reconciliation journey.

Walk Waves

Timed waves running for approximately 30 minutes in length will commence from 10am, with the last wave scheduled at 1:30pm. Choose a time that works for your school group and come ready to walk with us.

Accessibility

The Walk for Reconciliation is designed to be inclusive and accessible. If you have specific access requirements, please get in touch with our team.

Drop-off and pick-up location

The designated school bus drop-off and collection point is the slip road at the corner of Lovekin Drive and Forrest Drive.

Bus parking during the event

Buses are not expected to remain at the drop-off area. After dropping off the students, buses can park in the designated drop-off zone within Wadjuk Carpark until collection time.

Smoking Ceremony

Please be aware that a traditional Smoking Ceremony will take place during the event. This ceremony may produce smoke as part of a significant Aboriginal cultural practice.
