Event description

Join us, as part of a Trans-Tasman delegation of key New Zealand transport and infrastructure leaders to participate in the Roads Australia Transforming Transport Summit 2025. The delegation will not only attend the Roads Australia Transforming Transport Summit and the John Shaw Dinner, but also engage in exclusive site and project inspections, network with key stakeholders, and attend VIP events designed to foster closer collaboration between New Zealand and Australia in addressing mutual transport challenges.

Delegation Program Highlights*

Day 1 – April 01: Leaders Dinner

      As delegates arrive into Sydney, we will commence the delegation with a Networking opportunity at a ‘Leaders Dinner’. The dinner will be an exclusively small informal boardroom style event, limited to 20-30 senior executives engaging in Chatham House Rules discussions with key Australian stakeholders on trending industry issues.

      Potential topics for discussion with a key leader range from;

      • The Australian comparison of State and Federal funding against central government funding with regard to PPP’s.
      • Collaborative contracts with private finance
      • Pipeline planning approaches and consistency against a backdrop of political change
      • First nations inclusion
      • Approaches to maintenance delivery

      Day 2 – April 02: Site & Project Inspections

      The program will include exclusive site inspections of Australia’s key transport projects. Delegates will gain firsthand insights into the innovations and challenges shaping the future of Australia’s transport sector, guided by Roads Australia members who will share their expertise on project delivery, sustainability, and future plans. Proposed site visits may include (two to be chosen);

      • Western Harbour Tunnel – Acciona (North Sydney) Western Harbour Tunnel will see a new motorway built underneath Sydney Harbour to connect North Sydney to Rozelle, bypassing the CBD. Stage 2 includes connections from Stage 1 at Cove Street, Birchgrove, to the Warringah Freeway near North Sydney, tunnelling under Sydney Harbour and the complete tunnel fit-out.
      •  Sydney Metro - The Sydney Metro includes the Sydney Metro Northwest and the Sydney Metro City and Southwest projects. Sydney Metro is Australia’s biggest infrastructure project, comprising four metro lines, 46 stations, and 113km of new metro rail.
      • M12 Motorway – provide an east-west link between the M7 Motorway and The Northern Road while also providing a connection to the Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport. The project is under construction and is expected to be completed prior to the Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport opening in 2026.

      Pre Summit Networking Drinks
      Delegates are invited to a networking event the evening before the summit. This exclusive gathering of industry leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders provides an ideal opportunity to build deeper connections and explore potential cross-border collaborations.

      Day 3 – April 03: Transforming Transport Summit – April 3, 2025 ICC Sydney
      Delegates will attend the full-day summit, engaging with leading industry figures, government officials, and visionary thinkers on topics such as digitisation, innovation, and decarbonisation. The summit offers a platform to discuss key trends and explore solutions for the future of transport, positioning delegates at the forefront of transformative discussions.

        John Shaw Dinner – ICC Sydney

        Following the summit, the delegation will attend the John Shaw Dinner, a prestigious event where leaders from across the sector gather to celebrate innovation and leadership in transport.
