New Zealand Muslim Awards 2021
Event description
Important Update as of 26 January 2022
Assalamu alaikum & Kia ora,
After deliberation with our Trustees, Advisors, Sponsors and key stakeholders,we are regretfully postponing the 2021 awards. Though the Red Traffic Light framework is not akin to lockdown, we would struggle immensely in selecting the 100 people who can now attend and having to decline others. The Trustees also strongly felt that we did not want to risk providing an environment where a spread of Omicron could occur even if we hosted 100 individuals at the event itself.
Postponing the 2021 awards for the second time has been a difficult decision for our operational team who have worked hard, and were excited to be hosting many of you. The immense disruption Covid-19 is causing to deliver events with higher levels of scrutiny around health and safety is one our team felt we could simply not manage with the level of diligence required. We are now working on Plan C so we can bring you the 2021 awards whilst also commencing planning for our 2022 awards in November this year. The nominations have been excellent, and we can’t wait to share with you the title winners for last year.
Thank you to all our sponsors for your support. Though we had not begun announcements of our sponsors, they are all sticking by us through this decision and however we plan to move forward. A huge thanks to all our wonderful guests who we, unfortunately, won’t get to see on the 6th of February 2021. We hope you also stick by us, and join us when we announce our plans moving forward.
