Newcastle Business School Alumni Event – Panel Discussion

Transformative Technologies for the New Age of Business Education and Preparing Future Leaders

Newcastle Business School is proud to welcome our alumni community back to NUSpace for an engaging evening of networking and thought leadership.

At this special event, we’ll hear from accomplished NBS graduates as they share their professional journeys and perspectives on the role of transformative technologies in shaping the future of business education and leadership. These dynamic conversations provide our alumni and students the opportunity to reconnect, reflect, and gain insights from industry innovators working at the intersection of technology and business.

The evening will begin with drinks and light refreshments, followed by a panel discussion and Q&A hosted by Dr Christine Armstrong, featuring two inspiring alumni who are driving change through AI, innovation, and digital strategy.

Josh Leask

Co-Founder & CTO, SeeStone | Managing Director, Newcastle AI | MBA Graduate – Newcastle Business School

Josh Leask is a technology leader and entrepreneur with deep expertise in artificial intelligence, data analytics, and digital innovation. As Co-Founder and CTO of SeeStone, Josh is helping retailers make smarter seasonal buying decisions through AI-powered recommendations that balance creativity and data science.

Through his company Newcastle AI, Josh works with businesses across industries to develop bespoke machine learning solutions that are scalable, strategic, and tailored to real-world needs. His previous experience includes key technology leadership roles at ARTC and Ampcontrol, where he led major AI and IoT projects, collaborated with city councils, and drove digital transformation in complex environments.

Josh holds an MBA from the University of Newcastle and a Graduate Certificate in Applied AI from Charles Sturt University.

Dr George Pantelopoulos

Lecturer, Newcastle Business School

Dr. George Pantelopoulos is a Lecturer in Economics at the University of Newcastle, specialising in monetary economics, international economics, and the future of money and payments. An alumnus of Newcastle Business School, George completed his Bachelor of Commerce (Economics and Accounting) in 2018, followed by his PhD in early 2022.

His research has been featured in prestigious journals, including the Review of International Economics and the World Economy, and his work has been published by the European Central Bank in the field of payments. He is currently working on co-authoring a textbook on payments and financial market infrastructures.

With a passion for advancing economic thought, George brings a forward-thinking perspective to his teaching and research at Newcastle Business School.
