Purposeful Leadership was held in person and livestreamed on 1 July at the Adelaide Convention Centre. This memorable and magical experience featured illustrious speakers and activators from around the globe, hand-picked for their incredible stories, powerful content, and engaging delivery. They will truly inspire you to learn and lead with purpose.
Your ticket to this video-on-demand will provide you with access up to 30 September and add you to the list for 10 weeks of support materials that build upon and deepen what we hear from each of our speakers and activators, with further links and downloads to enrich your learning and leadership, including an e-journal.
No other conference, workshop or online series will be as life-changing or worthwhile. Purposeful Leadership will give you the impetus and permission to challenge the status quo and create positive impact; to become a person who embodies 'inspired leadership for the greater good'.

A QUICK RUNDOWN
In our opening session, delight in a unique welcome to country and story from Kaurna elder and cultural educator, Mickey Kumatpi O’Brien, followed by a masterclass in purposeful leadership from the USA’s Zach Mercurio, acclaimed author and keynote speaker. Then settle in for an enthralling fireside chat between Vicky Welgraven, respectful relationships champion and our summit emcee, Matthew Wright-Simon, Newday Leadership’s co-director.
Session two opens with an inspiring video and announcement of artist and social activator Danling Xiao’s art installation interpreting plastic pollution and food waste. Tim Jarvis, adventurer, film-maker and author then takes us on an entertaining and staggering journey across the icy waters and glaciers of Antarctica and his mission to lead on the greatest challenge of our time. The session ends with a truly moving exploration of purpose from emergency responder, humanitarian and charity founder, Peter Baines.
The third session sparkles with the wit and wisdom of social film-maker and body image role model, Taryn Brumfitt, director of Embrace (now showing on Netflix). Mental fitness facilitators Rebekah Smith and Bel Ryan then guide us through a powerful process of reflection and creative play. There is plenty to process and they know just how to help us through it.
In our closing session, group chief executive of Common Purpose, Adirupa Sengupta, joins us from the UK. Adi delves into models of personal and shared purposeful leadership that are used by this global organisation to 'develop leaders who can cross boundaries'. Amusement activator Annie Harvey gives us all something to laugh about and then Annalise Jennings shows us how passion and purpose transformed an entire community near the tip of Australia. Finally, in the early evening light, Newday favourite, Gill Hicks shares a poem and a truly stunning artwork to take into the days ahead.
