A Day To Play: St. Clairsville Touch-a-Truck and Heavy Equipment Dig Day

Newman Tractor's "A Day to Play" is an event designed to bring together the community for an exciting hands-on experience with heavy equipment. It's an opportunity for kids, teens, and adults to see and operate full-size construction machinery, getting a taste of what professional operators do every day while supporting a great cause.

This year, the event will be in St. Clairsville, Ohio, where we're spotlighting A Special Wish Ohio Valley Chapter—a group dedicated to granting wishes for kids with life-threatening illnesses. It's a chance to support a wonderful cause while having a blast. Bring the whole family to enjoy a day of heavy equipment fun and learn about the local charities making a difference.

What it looks like: 

With a variety of heavy equipment and EMS vehicles on display, attendees whether they have plenty or zero experience will get to see what it's like to operate these machines in the real world. Dig in the dirt, challenge your operator precision skills with games, or see the lights and sirens that keep us all on our toes! Join us at the Belmont County Fairgrounds anytime from 11 am- 6 pm for fun, food trucks, and some music to make you want to dig!

The morning is set aside for the first two hours when our wish recipients will have VIP time to engage with heavy equipment before the event opens to the public.

The afternoon is all about the community. We’re inviting everyone out whether you are 5 or 65, having never touched a machine, or are an experienced operator, to join in on the fun. Kids and teens can jump into the driver's seat, operating various heavy machines with supervision from experienced operators. It's a unique chance for them to dig, spin, and command powerful construction equipment, all in a safe environment. Or know what you are doing? Climb into the seat of these massive machines and feel the raw power as you dig and haul with experts on hand to support you if needed.

This event provides a thrilling experience and highlights the hard work and skill involved in blue-collar trades. It's a great way to appreciate the craftsmanship behind construction and discover local organizations that support our community.
