Newnham Creek Restoration Project - Saturday 21 September


Event description

Join a fun weekend of weeding and planting along Newnham Creek with students, staff and local community. Newnham Creek has been identified as a priority catchment by City of Launceston, and on the weekend we will be undertaking rehabilitation work and replanting around 200 Tasmanian natives.

We will meet at the north end of Brooks Road, at Newnham on the University of Tasmania campus.

Activities: weeding, planting, putting up guards for plants and removing rubbish.

What to bring: gardening gloves, sun protection, water bottles, weather appropriate clothing and enclosed shoes.

We will provide: tools, plants, plant guards, hot drinks and food.

Times: 10-2pm Saturday 21 September.

Please arrive at the start times to join the activity welcome and briefing. 

The event is hosted by Lars Roberts, Gardener - North, Sustainability, University of Tasmania in partnership with the UTAS Landcare Society and the Environment Society.
