New Faculty Orientation (In-person) - December 2024

Workshop Description: 

This one-day orientation is intended for faculty new to Capilano University.  

Participants will work with members of the Centre for Teaching Excellence to learn more about the student body unique to CapU and its campuses, and the instructional strategies that serve their needs. Participants will be introduced to the teaching technologies used at CapU such as eLearn and more. It is an opportunity to meet with other new faculty and become familiar with a wide variety of services for you and your students.

Workshop Outcomes: 

​​By the end of this workshop participants will be able to…​ 

• Identify key partners to your career at CapU
• Identify what makes CapU students unique
• Recognize the importance of CapU's commitment to reconciliation and Indigenization
• Identify the processes and components of teaching evaluations.
