New Faculty Orientation hosted by the Centre for Teaching Excellence (In-person)

Facilitators: Ally Quinney, Barry Magrill, Yi Cui , Chi Le & Victor Arvizu
This workshop will prepare participants for teaching success at the beginning of their semester.
By the end of the workshop participants will be able to take the first steps to:
Identify resources and social connections to support their teaching (i.e., eLearn & technology orientation, CTE consultations, departmental contacts, etc.).
Begin the journey of offering a personally meaningful land acknowledgement.
Recognize the diverse learning needs of students.
Align teaching practices to support student learning.
Identify their role in the faculty evaluation process and know where to go for support.
