NIBS Presents: Sanjay Kak's Red Ant Dream, A Documentary on the People's War in India
Event description
‘Let us declare that the state of war does exist and shall exist’, the revolutionary Bhagat Singh said almost a hundred years ago. Now in 2025, the CPI(Maoist) has been declared the number 1 internal security threat by the Hindutva Fascist Modi Government as they wage their genocidal war of counter-insurgency (operation kagaar) against their own people. In Sanjay Kak's 2013 documentary, Red Ant Dream, he documents the revolutionary movement, protests, and spontaneous peasant revolts across Bastar, Chhattisgarh, Niyamgiri, Odisha, and Punjab. Sanjay interviews Adivasi Peasants, Poets, Members of the Maoist People's Army, and Military generals from the Indian armed forces, providing a multi-sided view of the ongoing armed conflict, and the roots of the poverty and armed struggle.
