Description of class - Wilderness environments create special situations not usually encountered in an urban or suburban environment. In this program, students learn how to prevent some emergencies and what to do should one arise and help is not readily available. This course is designed for situations where help may take up to an hour to get to the patient.
This comprehensive course meets the Boy Scouts and National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA) curriculum and guidelines.
Lunch: 1 hour break for lunch, each day. Feel free to bring lunch or get a lunch nearby.
Course content includes:
o Preparation and Assessment
o Preventing and Caring for Injuries
o Environmental Hazards
o Biological Hazards
o Medical Emergencies
o basic CPR and First Aid is a prerequisite, can be added on during checkout process.
