Tuesday 25 November - Patterns of Plants
Japanese post-minimalist composer Mamoru Fujieda spent 26 years creating music based on the electrical activity of living plants. The result is his magnum opus, an ongoing series of compositions titled Patterns of Plants.
VDB and Astra Ensemble combine to create a unique combination of traditional Japanese, Chinese, and western baroque instruments, conjuring the sensuous, mystical, spacious musical universe of Fujieda's work.
