No Big Dramas - Term 4 classes 2026
Description
No Big Dramas is a drama program and guaranteed public performance opportunity for young people aged 9-16 years old. No auditions required.
This project offers an alternative experience for young people to gain experience on stage. At No Big Drama's we will create intimate, interactive theatre experiences for young audiences. We do not perform big musicals, but my goal is to give everyone the opportunity to have a moment on stage that matches their level of ambition. That might look like a lot of lines, a small chance to speak on stage, sing a song, be funny, be dramatic or stay silent (but theatrical). I'm really interested in what your child wants to gain from this, so that I can build the performance around their ambitions. Please encourage them to share exactly what they want, don't be shy or worried about seeming like a show off. Let's make these moments happen! (They can also change their mind later).
You are now able to book a spot for term 4, 2026. Please select the correct age group for your child.
In booking your spot you have secured a place for term four. Later in the year you will have the opportunity to book in for term one 2027 and the performance.
We will be working on our theatre and improvisation skills, and collaborating to adapt a picture book for the stage. I am still finalising the performance rights with authors and cannot confirm the books yet. I have two in mind, a funny one for the younger group and a more challenging, thought provoking text for the older group.
This will be performed for local families during the Easter school holidays in 2027.
The performance will be shaped by the talents you bring and the stage experiences you seek.
This project is a proud recipient of the Nillumbik Community Fund
The program will run in three stages.
Term 4 2026 is Part One – Is This For Me?
FREE to all participants
Includes ten one hour drama sessions at Allwood House in Hurstbridge
There will be three specialist classes with local performers – Comic timing and stage presence. Basic singing, breathing and voice projection. And another work shop TBC.
You do not need to commit to part two and three of the project to participate in part one, but I hope that you will! Being involved in part one guarantees you a spot in part two and Three.
