Event description

No mow lawns webinar

Traditional home lawns usually do little to support local biodiversity, soil health or storm water management, and can even encourage animal and plant pest species to flourish. But this doesn’t need to be the case.

In this session, Charlotte from Sustainable gardening Australia (SGA) will discuss the key issues in owning and managing a traditional lawn, alternatives to tradition lawns, and how to maximise carbon storage and biodiversity potential.

Charlotte will cover:

  • Why traditional lawns can be hard work and are not environmentally sustainable.
  • Recognising and identifying what you want to achieve with your lawn.
  • Alternative lawn plants, no mow options, and how to lay, establish and maintain.
  • Alternatives to planted lawns.
  • Why faking it (artificial turf) is not always good a good option!
