Yarra Ranges Palestine Action Group presents -
A community screening of the Oscar winning documentary film 'No Other Land' (MA15+). This film, recorded between 2019 and 2023, is the directorial debut of Basel Adra, Hamdan Ballal, Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor - a Palestinian-Israeli collective of four activists. It follows and shows the destruction of a Palestinian community in Masafer Yatta - a region in the occupied West Bank - where Israeli soldiers are tearing down homes and evicting their inhabitants in order to enforce a court order maintaining that the area designation as a Israeli military firing zone was legal under Israeli law. Basel Adra is a young Palestinian activist who has been resisting the forced displacement of his people by Israel's military for most of his life. This documentary is a raw and unwavering insight into the violent and oppressive conditions faced by Palestinians under Israeli occupation.
All proceeds from this event will go towards grass-roots mutual aid actions in Palestine and a portion will also be put towards Pay the Rent initiatives.
$20 per ticket + booking fees
