Menzies for Palestine and Amnesty International are hosting a screening of the documentary No Other Land.
No Other Land won the Oscar for Best Documentary Feature at the Academy Award Ceremony in March 2025.
This 2024 compelling documentary follows a young Palestinian man as he documents the destruction of his homeland by Israeli forces. The film captures the emotional and physical toll of forced evictions and home demolitions, highlighting the resilience of the Palestinian community, in the West Bank.
The film is directed by a collective of Palestinian and Israeli filmmakers: Basel Adra, Hamdan Ballal, Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor.
The screening will be followed by a Q&A session with:
Amin Abbas, a Palestinian Australian activist and co-founder of Olive Kids
Micaela Sahhar, an Australian Palestinian activist, writer, and academic, whose first book Find Me at the Jaffa Gate: An encyclopaedia of a Palestinian family was published earlier this year.
Sarah Schwartz, a human rights lawyer with expertise in democratic rights and freedoms and is an Executive Officer of the Jewish Council of Australia.
The film commences at 6:30 PM SHARP so please arrive 15-20 mins prior to screening. General admission.
Q&A session commences at 8:15 PM and concludes at 9:00 PM.
