No Room for Racism: Victorian Election Webinar
Description
Victoria’s diversity is our strength. We speak nearly 300 languages, cheer on dozens of sports teams, and celebrate countless different holidays. Our state has the first Treaty in the country. That’s something to celebrate.
But for too long, politicians have attacked Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, POC and migrant communities to score cheap political points. Instead of trying to divide neighbour from neighbour, politicians should focus on the issues that matter to Victorians from all walks of life: like having a safe place to call home, access to a good education, and being able to see a doctor when we need one.
Join the webinar with guest speakers from Common Threads and Democracy in Colour to hear what's at stake for racial justice this election and how you can send a message that there's no room for racism in politics.
Speakers include Jamal Hakim, Chair of Democracy in Colour, Larissa Baldwin-Roberts, CEO of Common Threads, and more to be announced!
