Noctober Glow Paint Party
Event description
When the sun sets, many nocturnal desert animals emerge to begin their day. Discover more about these creatures and participate in a creative painting activity using glow paint. Ages 5 and up.
This is an ADA accessible activity - little to no travel required.
Join us for a complimentary art event for youth and families on Friday, October 25, to learn about the desert's nocturnal creatures. Experience a short presentation about the Mojave Desert and nocturnal animals, interact with live creatures up close, and paint your large nocturnal animals.
Desert Institute volunteer Jane Fawke (aka Spider) will bring two pet snakes, one lizard, and two scorpions in terrariums to teach students how reptiles and arthropods survive in the wild. Students will only observe from a distance.
All participants are invited to showcase their glow paint art at ArchaeoPalooza on November 2 at the Freedom Plaza Gym in 29 Palms. Advanced registration is required.
