Fresh off the back of winning two NZ Event Awards, including Best Arts and Culture Event, Kitchen Takeover is back to light up your taste buds like La Tour Eiffell at night! Join us for our new cocktail and canapés evening at a secret location on Wednesday 7 December (Wednesday 23 and 30 November SOLD OUT), 7-11pm. Ooh la la!

This event is in collaboration with the Bay’s Hospitality Awards three time winner of Outstanding Bartender of the Year Katie Short from Mingle and Me (@mingle_and_me) and pastry chef extraordinaire Michael Belcher and team from Bay Catering. Once you discover our immersively styled secret location, you will be treated to a French inspired cocktail or mocktail, a delicious selection of canapés and a delectable grazing table full of the charcuterie and cheese Paris is known for. Plus a selection of DJ's including Pretty Fly & A White Guy will be spinning out some tunes for you to enjoy throughout our fabulous French evenings.

Who is it for?

These evenings will combine the secrecy, creativity and food that Kitchen Takeover has become known for in a slightly more relaxed setting. If you like nothing more than sipping a cocktail, whilst grazing on some delicious food and listening to some great tunes, this event is for you.

What will you eat and drink?

You’ll be treated to a complementary French inspired cocktail or mocktail, a delicious selection of canapés and a delectable grazing table full of the charcuterie and cheese Paris is known for. Gluten free and plant based dietary options are available.

Who’s designing the cocktails and canapés?

These events are in collaboration with the Bay’s three time winner of Outstanding Bartender of the Year, Mingle and Me (@mingle_and_me), Katie Short, who’ll be designing three special cocktails for the occasion. How does it work?

The location is revealed two hours prior by text and email. The secret location will be within 5 minutes of Tauranga CBD. The menu will be announced when you arrive. Tables will be available to sit at, or you can stand and mix and mingle with other foodies.

What should I wear?

The most important question! Dress for a festive, fancy French affair. We do encourage elaborate dress - it's Christmas after all!

Where and when will it be?

A secret location in Tauranga within 5 minutes of Tauranga CBD.

Will there be drinks available to buy during the evening?

Yes, we will offer a curated selection of cocktails, beers, wines and soft drinks if you would like to purchase additional drinks.

What happens if the event is unable to go ahead due to COVID-19?

We’ll postpone it to a later date. If you’re unable to make this date we’ll offer an alternative date or a refund.
