What to expect:

In this workshop we will listen to some older material and discuss our process on how we learn. We’ll learn a tune or two and have an open discussion on posture, technique, learning from older material, playing as a group and playing in jams. If you’re a beginner please feel free to join as there will be a lot to take away. 

Questions welcomed and there will be moments to take video and audio recordings so you can learn at your own pace.

Any level. There will be something to learn if you listen. Recording devices welcomed.

About Nokosee Fields and Ryan Nickerson:

Nokosee Fields and Ryan Nickerson have devoted many years to the old time musical traditions of southern Appalachia and the Midwest, inspired particularly by the sounds and rhythms of the music's earliest recordings. Along the way their musical interests have broadened to include many other varieties of traditional music, incorporating material from Early Blues, Country, and Cajun into their performances.
