Overview
Learn about Noongar culture, history and natural beauty of our coastline with Whadjuk Traditional Owner, Olman Walley. You will be guided through the stunning sights of Scarborough Beach and our pristine coastline to learn about significant sites and vegetation in the area.
Date: Sunday 22nd of September, 2024
Time: 9.00am to 11.00am. Please arrive ay 8.45am for event registration.
Location: Stirling Natural Environment Coastcare Sea Container (near the Scarborough Beach Surf School) located at the northern end of The Esplanade, Scarborough.
Cost: $5 per person (+ booking fees)
Parking: Please be aware that there is limited free parking at Scarborough Beach.
What to Bring:
Please wear comfortable shoes suitable for walking and bring your hat, water bottle and sunscreen. Feel free to bring your camera and binoculars along.
Morning Tea will be provided. Please advise dietary requirements at checkout.

This experience is packed with opportunities to connect and immerse yourself in Noongar culture and understand the ecological value of the area. You will get to learn about the land, ocean and waterways, plants and animals of the Perth coast from your knowledgeable Noongar guide, Olman Walley.
Included is a walking tour, which will be a gentle stroll around a section of Scarborough Beach with plenty of stops along the way to share history, music, stories and information about Noongar culture and language, local flora and fauna, tools and artefacts.
The tour then follows an up-hill path requiring a moderate level of fitness, along with a stroll along the beach.
This event is provided to you by Stirling Natural Environment Coastcare and Perth NRM, who will all be in attendance to learn and share kaartdijin (knowledge) on how we can work together to protect Boodjah and our beautiful coast and natural areas
Cancellations and Refunds
A program will only be cancelled if there are insufficient enrolments received one day prior to the event or due to factors beyond our control. No individual refunds or credits will be given for general non-attendance.
