Come on down for another moorditj term of Noongar classes with The Dylans at the Vic Park Community Centre!
These FREE weekly lessons, which have been running at VPCC for the past 2 years, offer a special space for folk of all backgrounds to have a whole lot of fun learning about Noongar culture and language through engaging games, music, art activities, story telling and more.
Designed for primary school aged kids and their parents/ carers. Adults are welcomed to join into the classes to learn, have fun, and deepen cultural knowledge WITH your kids, or can also drop kids off for the hour.
We welcome both new and familiar faces, so spread the word and we'll see you on Thursdays!
ABOUT THE TEACHERS
'The Dylans' aka Dylan Collard (of Kalyakoorl) and Dylan Shillito (of Ngalak Nidja) are the dynamic duo who have been facilitating these lessons for the past 2 years at VPCC, along with numerous educational and cultural programs at schools and organisations across Perth and beyond.
Dylan Collard is a proud Wadjak Balardong Noongar man - local Vic Park resident, ex-primary school teacher, and language expert, and is currently studying his PHD in Noongar Language educational methods at UWA. By his side is Dylan Shillito a Wadjak Balardong Noongar man, accomplished performer, musician and children's educator.

8 weeks: 15th May - 3rd July (starting week 3 of term 2)

PARTICIPATION
Suited to kids of all primary school ages. Younger siblings can also join in with an adult's attendance.
Option for adults to 'drop and go' or stay and join into the fun
Weekly attendance not essential, but encouraged
Please note that some of the sessions will be photographed in order to record the moment and share with our community in the future - you will have the option to opt out.
ACCESS
Vic Park Community Centre has step free access, a disabled toilet with baby change, access to outdoor space and gender neutral toilets.
