To set the scene for our stay, we start the day off by being introduced to the island on the Baunti Tours Island Orientation Tour. Our tour includes a visit to the convict buildings in historic Kingston and St Barnabas Chapel, built from the ruins of the New Gaol. This afternoon, we meet more locals as we join the Farm & Industry Tour to witness their enterprises sustaining the Norfolk Island community. These might include raising meat-producing sheep, market gardening, pig farming, and manufacturing soft drinks and liqueurs, or exporting Kentia seedlings. We complete our interesting day with a fun night out, embarking on the “Who Killed the Surveyor” murder mystery dinner in an elegantly restored Georgian house perched on the Kingston foreshore. Step back in time to 1859 as we dine with the Chief Magistrate Frederick Young and his wife Mary. Great food! Great fun!

Day 4 (BD) BOOKS, BOATS & SIGHTSEEING Tuesday 22 December 2026
Following breakfast, Baunti Tours will collect us for a tour that will visit the property of the late Colleen McCullough. The world-renowned author of 24 books called Norfolk Island home for almost 36 years, and today, we have the opportunity to see into her world. She and her husband, Norfolk Islander Ric Robinson, created a luxurious hideaway and maintained their privacy to ensure that Colleen had the perfect environment for her writing. Some of her most powerful titles were created in this much-loved sanctuary. Her beloved property “Out Yenna” is now open, and we are escorted through her magnificent home, where we can view Ric and Colleen’s priceless collection of artefacts gathered on their travels all over the world. We will see where her books were researched and where she worked into the wee hours creating the incredible tales that have sold in their millions in so many different languages. Times are dependent on tides; however, today we take the unique Glass Bottomed Boat tour. Our guide will share their knowledge of Norfolk’s marine life, and once we’ve “walked the plank” with these ‘mutineer descendants, ’ it takes a minute to get to the reef. Here we’re able to view beautiful coral gardens and tropical fish inside the calm crystal waters of Norfolk’s lagoon. Tonight, we freshen up for an evening of meeting the locals at the Progressive Dinner. This is the perfect way to get a taste of the real Norfolk lifestyle. Our first stop is at the northern tip of the island to enjoy pre-dinner nibbles at a clifftop home with amazing ocean views. The evening finishes with the main course and dessert at a large family home on the southern side of the island. Our host will also entertain us with some of his island experiences and share some of the historical practices and industries.

Day 4 (BD) SETTLERS AND COMMANDANTS Wednesday 23 December 2026
Today, we visit the Pitcairn Settlers Village. We’ll experience what life was like for Norfolk Island’s most recent settlers, the Pitcairners and their descendants, at one of the last few remaining original settlers’ properties. Next, we visit the magnificent 360-degree panoramic painting at Cyclorama. This is an amazing pictorial history of the ‘Mutiny on the Bounty,’ which will help us to understand the history of Norfolk Island, along with the storyboards and maps with interesting detail. Completing our day is a fun theatre dinner show. The Commandant's Dinner shares stories about the notorious convict settlements on Norfolk Island and how the convicts were treated by sadists and reformers. Listening to a chilling recall of one of the infamous rebellions, we’ll marvel at how the Commandants and their families adapted to life in a Norfolk Island penal colony, recreating a little piece of England in the Pacific.

Day 5 (BHTD) MORE OF NORFOLK Thursday 24 December 2026
After breakfast, we join the Norfolk Today Tour. We’ll learn how Norfolk Islanders live in the 21st century and make life on this tiny South Pacific Island possible. How is petrol and gas brought to the island? How is the island powered? This is a behind-the-scenes tour where we’ll meet the locals and see how Norfolk plays a role in the worldwide weather monitoring, as well as visit the community radio station. High Tea lunch today at Bounty Lodge. Originally built as a warm and welcoming home in the 1920’s the property has seen many changes over the years and now offers boutique accommodation, as well as being a wedding and function centre. The grounds are stunning, and much of the interior still has its historical appearance. Late afternoon, we head out for the wonderful Island Fish Feast Dinner. Then tonight we join the 1856 Untold Story tour, as they bring the past to life by recounting stories of the original families - told by today's descendants. The 1856 untold story will follow their journey in the World Heritage Kingston area, about where they lived, and how they adapted to their new life on Norfolk Island.
