North Bears Representative Trials 2027
Description
Trials for the 2027 Norths Representative season are open and we cannot wait to see what you bring to the court.
We will be selecting 24 representative teams across U12, U14, U16 and U18 age groups, with trials running from 18th October through to 8th November at North Sydney Indoor Sports Centre. The trial process spans four sessions across Open and Closed Trials, with returning rep players entering directly at Closed Trials and new players progressing through from Open Trials. Every player is guaranteed a minimum of two trials throughout the process.
Each trial is assessed by a panel of rep coaches, our Director of Coaching and an Independent Selector to ensure a fair and thorough process for every player.
Team announcements will be made via email throughout the trial period, with final teams published on the Norths website on Friday 11th November.

FAQs
- Do you just pick the same players each year?
Previous rep players are not prioritised over new players. The main consideration to player selection is their comparative skill at a representative level.
- Can my child trial for the age group above?
Unfortunately, they cannot.
- Is there a form I need to complete before I come to trial at Norths?
If you played for any other BNSW representative club in 2026, you will need to complete an Intent to Trial Form.
- What happens if I am coming to trial from another BNSW association?
You will be considered a Transfer. An association can historically only accept 1 transfer per team.
Junior players can usually transfer freely between associations, unless they owe fees, the move would cause major problems for their old club, or it would create an unfair “super team.” Each team has a cap on how many transfer players they can take (One per team), but players who missed the previous season can move without restriction, with only one exemption allowed per team. - Can my child trial again if they are not selected after the first cut?
Unfortunately, if your child is not selected, they cannot trial at the next trial.
- Can I attend any trial date for my age group?
No, you must attend the first trial session applicable to you.
Non-Norths players are to attend the open trial and returning Norths players are to attend the first combined trial.
