Rescheduled Information session and Northern Evacuation Route Tour for the Byfield Community

Event description

Livingstone Shire Council wishes to invite residents to participate in an information session and guided tour. This tour is an opportunity for the community of Byfield and the surrounding area to engage with the Australian Defence Force (ADF), Queensland Fire and Emergency Services and Livingstone Shire Council to discuss their preparedness in the event of an emergency. 

It will also be a unique opportunity to familiarise with a route that could be utilised during an emergency.

The upcoming tour will commence at the Byfield Hall and will then continue through the ADF area via the supplied bus only. Morning tea and lunch will be provided. 

Positions are limited.

Date: 20 July 2024
Meet: Gather from 8.45am for a 9am start
Where: Byfield Hall, 2195 Byfield Road Byfield
Finish time: 2pm
What you’ll need: Water bottle & Hat
Transport: Strictly bus only

Attendees can also win a Stihl prize pack for their participation on the day which will be drawn during the tour. Council thanks you in advance for your co-operation in preventing and preparing for disasters and building a safer and more resilient Livingstone Shire community. This information session and guided tour are made possible as the project received grant funding from the Australian Government’s Black Summer Bushfire Recovery Grant Program.
