Description

Salve Making Workshop

Presented by Food Culture, in partnership with Common Joy Studios

An afternoon of connection and creation.

Join us at Food Culture for a gentle, hands-on salve-making workshop led by Chelsea, creator of Common Joy Studios.

We’ll gather around the table to explore the ingredients and process behind making a simple herbal salve, learning from Chelsea as we create together. Each guest will make their own salve to take home, along with the knowledge and recipe to continue making at home.

This workshop is about more than the finished jar. It’s an opportunity to slow down, work with our hands, learn from someone in our community and spend an afternoon connecting with one another.

We’ll begin with time to arrive, settle in and share a cup of cacao before moving into the salve-making workshop. Afterwards, there’ll be space to stay, mingle, ask questions and explore the ingredients used in the workshop.

The afternoon

4:15–4:30 pm — Arrive + settle in
Time to land in the space, apron up and explore ingredients

4:30–5:30 pm — Create
Chelsea will guide us through the salve-making process, introducing the ingredients and demonstrating each stage as we create our own salves together.
we will share Cacao and imbue our intentions into our salves. Creating magic as a community.

5:30–6:00 pm — Connect
Stay for a little longer, share conversation, ask questions and explore the ingredients used to make your salve.

You’ll leave with

Your own handmade salve, a recipe to recreate it at home, and a little more knowledge about the plants, ingredients and processes behind what you’ve made.

Capacity: Maximum 15 people

This is the first in a growing series of Food Culture workshops — bringing local makers, growers, practitioners and knowledge-holders into our space to share skills, create with our hands and cultivate community together.
