NOV Dunedin Game Dev Meetup - with special guest Julian Gosiengfiao
Join us for our November Game Dev Meetup
Welcome special guest, CerebralFix's Creative Product Lead, Julian Gosiengfiao to Ōtepoti-Dunedin Meetup!
Julian has 17 years of experience in the games industry, including as Design Director for the recently-launched Subway Surfers City. He's a recent arrival to New Zealand and Christchurch as of last year, where he currently works at CerebralFix as Creative Product Lead, working with new games and projects tumbling down the pipe. He otherwise spends all of his time either scheming how to get closer to Steam and PC, or building surfskates of the Frankenstein variety.
When Strengths Become Weaknesses: Moving From LiveOps/In-Production Games To New Game Development
Many of us in the industry got our starts joining games late in production, or working on live games. Armed with knowledge (and success!), this is often the step before embarking on a new game, since we know how it works now, and nothing can go wrong.
...Right?
Julian will talk about the gulfs he's encountered in his own career journey, and the mindset shifts he's found necessary to adapt to move between mature and new games.
