More than just a regular concert, eTown Radio Tapings are a unique live experience! The show includes performances and interviews with both of our visiting artists, and an interview segment with changemakers from our local and national community who are doing their part to make the world a better place. As an attendee, you serve as a vital part of our eTown show, which will be broadcast across the country on our affiliate radio stations and all streaming platforms. Listen for your cheers on the radio, and to hear how it all comes together, in just a few weeks following the night!

About Jake Xerxes Fussell:

Reared in Georgia and now settled in North Carolina, Jake Xerxes Fussell has established himself as a devoted listener and contemplative interpreter of a vast array of so-called folk songs, lovingly sourced from a personal store of favorites. He has released five studio albums to date, beginning with his self-titled debut album, released by Paradise of Bachelors in 2015. 

His most recent studio album When I’m Called was produced by James Elkington and features the playing of Ben Whiteley (The Weather Station), Joe Westerlund (Bon Iver, Califone) and others. Blake Mills contributes guitars on several tracks. Joan Shelley and Robin Holcomb provide backing vocals. In their review of the record, Pitchfork wrote: “No other American singer is repurposing our old folk scripts with so much authority or ingenuity.” 

More recently, Jake Xerxes Fussell and James Elkington collaborated on the music for Rebuilding, a feature film directed by Max Walker-Silverman and starring Josh O’Connor. A soundtrack of the same name was released on Fat Possum Records in November 2025.

About Meg Lui:

On her debut album Instant Validation, Northern California-born singer/songwriter Meg Lui shares an up-close glimpse into the magnificently curious wonderland of her mind, offering up a batch of songs both rooted in raw emotion and inhabited by a fantastically surreal cast of characters: anthropomorphic flowers, sea monsters, Elvis Presley, the ill-fated lovers of ancient Greek myths. The album, produced by Sufjan Stevens and released on his longtime label Asthmatic Kitty Records, marries Lui’s intimate songwriting with an extravagantly detailed sound anchored in her warm yet commanding voice — an instrument she’s wielded to glorious effect in singing background vocals on acclaimed releases like Sufjan Stevens’ Javelin and John Legend’s My Favorite Dream.
