November 2025 BCA Inform - Update on Aviation Reforms
Event description
In August 2024, the Australian Government released the Aviation White Paper with a commitment to making sure the aviation sector protects the rights of people with disability.
This reform included commitment to create new aviation-specific disability standards. These standards will be a schedule to the Disability Standards for Accessible Public Transport 2002 under the Disability Discrimination Act 1992.
To support the development of the Aviation Disability Standards, a BCA representative, alongside other people with disability, recently took part in a series of co-design workshops and consultations with key industry stakeholders.
Join us to hear insights from these sessions and the latest updates on aviation reforms, presented by BCA Policy Officer Melanie Chatfield and BCA Representative Assunta Fogliaro.
