November Intro to K9 Nose Work in West Roxbury
Description
Intro to K9 Nose Work class will take place at Theodore Parker Church in West Roxbury, MA on recurring Tuesday evenings for 6 sessions - 11/03, 11/17, 11/24, 12/01, 12/08, and 12/15 (no class on 11/10). Each session will be 50 minutes long and be held between 5:30 and 6:20 pm.
K9 Nose Work is a fun activity for dogs of all ages, sizes, and levels of physical ability. The activity gives your dog the opportunity to use and develop their natural ability to detect odor. While developing this skill, they build independence and confidence while you build the ability to understand subtle dog body language through observation.
Each dog will spend 5-10 minutes at a time in the building or exterior spaces to search alone. All other dogs will be secured in their car or in a crate in a separate room until it's their time to search. If your dog is unable to be left alone for 30 minutes, please consider a second person to stay with your dog during the class. There will be an informational email after registration that will go over logistics, safety, considerations for all weather conditions, and frequently asked questions.
This class will take place indoors and outdoors. Each family group will be limited to two handlers maximum per dog, class is limited to 6 dogs total to accommodate.
Beyond Intro to K9 Nose Work is taught by Sarah Altone, PNWI.
Cost is $240 for 6 sessions.
