November Monthly Mingle
Event description
This month’s guest speaker is Robbie Speldewinde, Operations Manager of St John’s Care in Reid. For many years the Farm has been donating fresh produce to their emergency relief program and this year we received a beautiful note of thanks:
‘The fresh produce we receive goes straight into the hands of people accessing our service each day. Many of the individuals and families we support are experiencing significant financial hardship, and sadly, fresh fruit and vegetables are often the first things they forgo. Thanks to Canberra City Farm, we’re able to offer our clients healthy, nutritious food—something that not only nourishes their bodies, but also restores a sense of dignity during a tough time. Clients frequently comment on how incredibly fresh the produce is—often fresher than what they can afford at the supermarket. As demand for our service grows and the cost of fresh food continues to rise, the support from Canberra City Farm has become more vital than ever.’
Come and meet Robbie in person and find out more about how the Farm is making a difference.
The idea of the Monthly Mingle is to regenerate ourselves: great food, good ideas, and farm friends, old and new. Once a month and weather permitting, we fire up the pizza oven, listen to an inspirational speaker from our great regional talent pool, and the conversation grows organically. Mingles are a great way to visit the Farm, meet the community and learn from each other.
We provide pizza bases, sauce, and cheese. Please BYO pizza toppings to share.
