Training: Building Trauma-Informed Organisations

At the last quarterlies we hosted a new network on vicarious trauma. One hundred and thirty people attended. In response to burnout and vicarious trauma of the pandemic, increasing workloads, complex matters, being unable to meet demand, funding uncertainty, little administrative support and complicated compliance responsibilities CLCNSW has committed to helping centres strengthen their capacity to build trauma informed practices. We will provide training and development throughout 2022.
Knowmore has generously agreed to deliver training in November to centre staff. Knowmore are recognised as legal sector practice leaders in their trauma informed, culturally safe person-centred, multidisciplinary approach. Knowmore understand the unique challenges of the CLC sector and the impacts of vicarious trauma and burnout. They will discuss how organisations can protect staff from psychological injury and respond to enhancing worker wellbeing.
The sessions are designed to share knowledge and start conversation about risks and responsibilities and how we build and maintain good trauma informed and cultural safety practices across the CLC sector. We have tailored the sessions to the different roles and responsibilities within CLCs to ensure clients, staff and organisations are resilient.

The trainings are structured with the intention for individuals to attend both sessions for your role. We are prioritising those who can attend both sessions. If you cannot attend both the introduction session and the follow up session, please email officemanager@clcnsw.org.au to be added to the waitlist.
