Rising Up Film Screening Townsville

Join us for a screening of Rising Up, a new documentary focused on hope, optimism and action for Australia and the Pacific. Produced by ocean advocate, Take 3 for the Sea ambassador and Plastic Free Cronulla founder, Kal Glanznig, this film investigates the impacts of the climate crisis and plastic pollution on different communties, and showcased the voices of young leaders who are creating much needed change. The film sees Kal travelling to Tuvalu, Samoa, Bali and across Australia (including Magnetic Island) to uncover the solutions of how we can all rise up and take action.
After the screening, hear from the filmmaker, Kal Glanznig and a panel of local experts and climate action advocates.
The screening will be taking place at Grill’d on Palmer St. in Townsville. Enjoy a burger or drink and have some free ice-cream after, sponsored by Pure Pops.

Rising Up was launched during Climate Action Week Sydney in May 2024. This screening presented by the North Queensland Conservation Council, your voice for the environment in North Queensland. We are a grassroots community organisation that promotes and protects our region's natural environment through community action and political advocacy.
