Event description

About the Workshop

This one day workshop with award winning Food Photographer Nelly le Comte, will take you through the process of styling, photographing and editing delicious Instagram-worthy food photos.

Expect a hands-on workshop where you will:

  • Explore light and composition.
  • Learn to create a food-set, style and choose camera angles to enhance your food product
  • Understand the importance of backdrops and use your phone camera to take better images.

Several food sets will be available on the day to explore food photography in small groups. Depending on your phone, an app or two may need to be downloaded.

Lunch and plenty of time will be provided to get Nelly's assistance with your food & beverage photography.

After lunch, we will work on the day's photos and use simple editing to make them shine.

The course is perfect for those in the industry working with food & beverages and would love to know more about taking Instagram worthy images of your produce.

If you want to explore your product, feel free to bring it along to the workshop but do let us know, as we can integrate it into a food set.

Introducing our Presenter:  Nelly le Comte

As a photographer, food photography is my passion. Originally from Amsterdam, the Netherlands, I am now based in Byron Bay, Australia. I work as a freelance commercial photographer specialising in food and lifestyle. I also produce and publish cookbooks with mouthwatering images for various chefs, nutritionists and other clients.

I have travelled extensively across my 36 years behind the camera, drawing out the beauty in everything I photograph. The power of images drives me - creating together with my clients' pictures that represent and strengthen their unique brand.
