    Event description

ANZ's Reconciliation Network is pleased to invite you to attend ANZ’s 2024 National Reconciliation Week speaker event on Monday 27 May at 1pm.

This year’s National Reconciliation Week theme, Now More Than Ever, is a reminder that we must continue to stand up to defend and uphold the rights of First Nations peoples, to call out racism wherever we encounter it, and to actively reinforce the voices of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples .

We are delighted to be joined by Ian Hamm, a Yorta Yorta man from Shepparton in Central Victoria with extensive government and community sector experience, particularly at executive and governance levels.

Ian will lead a discussion around truth-telling and racism after the 2023 referendum in Australia, the impacts of historical injustices and exclusionary policies on the financial wellbeing and inclusion of First Nations peoples, and the role of Financial Institutions in closing the gap.

The event will be hosted by Shelley Cable, ANZ's Head of First Nations Strategy for Australia.

    Time: 1:00pm – 2:00pm

Event Format: Keynote followed by audience Q&A
