National Reconciliation Week (NRW) is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.

The theme for National Reconciliation Week 2023, Be a Voice for Generations, encourages all Australians to be a voice for reconciliation in tangible ways in our everyday lives – where we live, work and socialise.

Each year Reconciliation SA hosts the Annual National Reconciliation Week (NRW) Breakfast to launch NRW week in South Australia, you are invited to purchase a ticket or table and join us in hearing how you and your organisation/community can bring this years theme to life. There will be live performances and key speakers, see below for program details.

Every year on 26 May, National Sorry Day remembers and acknowledges the mistreatment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who were forcibly removed from their families and communities, which we now know as ‘The Stolen Generations’. National Sorry Day is a day to acknowledge the strength of Stolen Generations Survivors and reflect on how we can all play a part in the healing process for our people and nation.

Program:
This year we are delighted to have TV Presenter, Public Speaker and Filmmaker, Marcellus Enalanga MC the breakfast. Marcellus is a Western Arrente, Walpiri and Pitjantjara man, and former Channel Nine South Australian Young Achiever of the Year currently undertaking a Journalism Cadetship at SBS News.

Attendees will be treated to live performances by Dusty Feet Mob, Corey Theatre and Nancy Bates, with more to be announced shortly.

Speaking at the event will be South Australian Attorney General Kyam Maher MLC, South Australia's Commissioner for First Nations Voice Dale Agius, Reconciliation Australia’s CEO Karen Mundine as well as Reconciliation SA's Co-Chairs Helen Connolly and Jeremy Johncock.

This years visual artist in residence who will have works for sale is Ceduna based KT Aboriginal Fine Art. KT Aboriginal Fine Art represents three generations of artworks produced by Aboriginal Artists Kelly Taylor & Daughters, T'keyah Ware & Kelilah Ware. Together, the family have created truly incredible Aboriginal Art and have received widespread recognition.

Individual tickets are priced at $120 + GST & Booking Fee
Tables of 12 are priced at $1440 + GST & Booking Fee

Please note that there are no member discounts available this year.

Dietary and Attendee Information:
To ensure all attendee dietary requirements are met, you will be asked to enter names and any special considerations via Humanitix.

If you do not have this information at the time of booking your tickets, you will have an opportunity to do so via an automated link via Humanitix sent to all attendees in May.

The deadline to receive all dietary and attendee information through Humanitix is 12pm Thursday 18 May 2023.

All attendee information (names and dietaries) will be provided to the Adelaide Convention Centre on this date.

Please do not send this information via email, as it will not be entered into the automated system.

Special diets for medical and religious reasons will be provided for, as well as any other dietary requirements.

FAQ’s

I am booking a table, but I won’t have all the names and dietary requirements for each guest right away. Can I add this information at a later date?
Your deadline to add ALL dietary requirements and names for your table is 12pm Thursday 18 May 2023. In May, you will receive an automated email via our ticketing platform Humanitix with a link to follow to add all your final dietary requirements if you are not able to include them at the time of booking your table.

Are there any free tickets for First Nations people?
We have a select number of seats available, with thanks to our Community Table sponsors. If you are First Nations and would like to register your interest in attending the event on a Community Table, please email events@reconciliationsa.org.au

What are you doing to commemorate National Sorry Day at this event?
It is very important to commemorate the significance of National Sorry Day as this year’s National Reconciliation Week Breakfast falls on this date. We have several activities planned to respectfully acknowledge this date including performances, speeches and table information placements.
