Event description

2021 NSW Pearcey Award for the Tech Entrepreneur of the Year

Join us for the only NSW ICT industry event that celebrates inspiring founders. Past winners include Adam Brimo (Open Learning), Melanie Perkins (Canva), Mike Cannon-Brookes and Scott Farquar (Atlassian) and Nick Molnar (Afterpay).

The NSW Pearcey Entrepreneur Award recognises a NSW person in "mid career", who is already a successful Tech Entrepreneur, and who has the potential to succeed further.

The criteria are centred around taking a risk, making a difference and being an inspiration.

This year's fantastic event includes our now-legendary University pitching competition featuring startups from University of Sydney, University of NSW, University of Technology Sydney, University of Newcastle and Macquarie University competing for a prize pool of $6,000, thanks to our sponsors ACS, ASX and Macquarie Government. Winners will also be able to take advantage of a mentoring session kindly offered by a number of our past winners.

The award for Entrepreneur of the Year will be presented by David Thodey, AO, chair of CSIRO, and the evening will be MC-ed by Jo Burston, founder and CEO of Inspiring Rare Birds (winner, 2012).

With thanks to our proud sponsors:

Australian Stock Exchange
Australian Computer Society
Macquarie Government
