Event description

The new NSW Vibrancy laws are set to reshape nightlife, entertainment, and how communities interact with public space — but what do they mean for public health and safety?

Join us for a timely webinar exploring the public health implications of the NSW Vibrancy laws

Hear from expert voices across law, frontline healthcare, and government

Dr Tony Brown- Chair Hunter Region Multicultural CDAT and legal researcher who will unpack the legal framework and raise questions about public health consequences of legislation.

Liz McCall - Emergency Nurse, NSW Nurses and Midwives Association - speaking from the frontline, Liz will share insights on how the laws affect alcohol-related harm and emergency health services,

Jan Barham – Former Byron Shire council Mayor and NSW Parliamentarian Jan will draw on experience in local and state government, and will speak of balancing vibrancy with community wellbeing and safety.

This is more than a nightlife issue — it’s a whole-of-community issue.

We warmly welcome anyone concerned about how these laws will shape our shared spaces, valuing participation from public health professionals, AOD workers, local government staff, community workers, law enforcement and emergency workers.
