Event description

Reconciliation South Australia invites you to our in-person Nunga Screening event, in partnership with Country Arts SA.

This event will feature nine wonderful short First Nations films, followed by an engaging Q & A session with selected film makers and two Reconciliation SA board members. This screening features a mix of independent films ranging from inspiring documentaries, compelling dramas, quirky animations, and contemporary to traditional storytelling.

We encourage you to bring a friend to enjoy the screening. If they are interested in finding out more about becoming a member, we encourage you to find one of our friendly Reconciliation SA staff members to chat about how to sign up! This film event is dedicated to bringing communities together to share in culture.

Nunga Screen celebrates First Nations’ culture, stories and language through film; sharing stories of history, healing, belonging, community and connection to Country. The program consists of various short films across both scripted and unscripted documentary formats from First Nations filmmakers. Roughly half of the 100-minute program is suitable and engaging for young viewers and can be varied to suit any audience. Please note, screenings after interval are not suitable for children.

Please arrive at 6:15pm, for cinema doors at 6:30pm. Event will begin with a Welcome to Country from Spirit in Unity, followed by the screening, and finishing with a engaging and interactive panel.

We look forward to seeing you there.

FYI - there is no parking at the Mercury Cinema, but there are multiple paid car parks available within short walking distance, and several public transportation options near by. We suggest planning your journey ahead of time!
