Nup to the Cup! Northern Beaches lunch
Description
We want to showcase pokies-free local venues that say no to gambling harm, and the legends at 7th Day Brewery were a perfect fit.
Melbourne Cup day is the worst of gambling culture, with over $214m spent on wagering last year, or an average of $88 per person. It also carries concerns about animal welfare, as seven horses have died on Cup day since 2013.
We're organising live music and tasty pizza for a fun and friendly lunch. We hope to see you there!
Ticket sales include a donation to Lifeline Northern Beaches who provide mental health and financial counselling services, and to the Kind Farm Horse Rescue that rescues horses from slaughter or injury from the racing industry.
Note - drinks will be available for purchase at the bar.
