NVR ANCHORED PARENTING Free Introductory Webinar
Event description
For parents and carers of children and teenagers with neurobehavioural conditions (including ASD, ADHD, PDA, FASD).
Parenting a child with challenging behaviours can often feel overwhelming and isolating. Anchored Parenting is a group program designed to support parents and carers who are already working as hard as they can with renewed confidence, hope and insights to care for themselves as well as their children.
By taking part in this webinar, you will be introduced to:
the essential elements of Anchored Parenting
the evidence based Non-Violent Resistance Parenting (NVR) concepts
gain an understanding of what is offered in our group program and individual work
The full Anchored Parenting program (8-week group plus 3 individual sessions) offers a way to restore fractured family relationships and build safety for families who are navigating difficult, destructive, or harmful behaviours in children and young people.
Parents and carers learn how to become steady anchors for their children even in moments of intensity and increase emotional and physical safety within the family.
The group will run in Term 4 this year
The webinar will be facilitated by Dr Caroline De Vries - Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist and Katrin Gustafson - Mental Health Occupational Therapist.
