Description

Step inside Nyaal Banyul and discover how culture, Country and design come together in one of Geelong’s newest landmark spaces.

Developed in collaboration with the Wadawurrung Traditional Owners, Nyaal Banyul reflects cultural stories, connections to Country and ongoing traditions. Meaning ‘open your eyes to the hills’, the venue invites us to look more closely, listen, learn and see Geelong from a new perspective.

Throughout Nyaal Banyul, artwork meets you at every turn. Many of the works have been created by First Peoples artists, with their voices and stories woven into the heart of the venue. From artworks and murals to architecture, interiors and landscaping, Wadawurrung culture and Country are embedded throughout the precinct.

Cultural artefacts from the Wadawurrung Traditional Owners Aboriginal Corporation are also on display, adding depth to the expression of local First Nations culture and creating further opportunities to connect with the stories of this place.

Join this guided tour to explore the cultural thinking, creative decisions and design details that shape Nyaal Banyul — and discover how collaboration with Traditional Owners has informed a new place for gathering, sharing knowledge and connecting with Country.

Nyaal Banyul: Guided Tour offers a chance to look beyond the building itself and experience the stories, artworks and ideas woven into its design.

Meeting point for tour: Nyaal Banyul Customer Service Desk near Western Beach Road Entrance
