NYE Warehouse Jam | Geelong Singles | Vintage Style

After a crazy year of physical distancing and isolation, we're back and more excited than ever to explore Geelong & Melbourne. This event is a unique opportunity to meet up with locals for a relaxed evening of colourful conversations, scavenger hunts, bargain hunting (50% off clothing stock), dress up competition (vintage theme; think 60's, 70's 80's) and tasty tucker at Garage Geelong. Do something different this new year's eve!

"NYE Warehouse Jam" is designed to connect you with like-minded people through sharing a mutually enjoyable experience. This event is best suited to open-minded singles, within the age range of late 20's to mid 50's.

Our events generally attract fun-loving professionals, experienced travellers, those who enjoy outdoor activities, (most tend to lean left politically), people with an interest in health or personal development, people who consider themselves "young-at-heart", and ALL prefer extended face-to-face conversations (as opposed to swiping, typing, night clubs or speed dating).

FACILITATOR

Your host for the evening is the effervescent Sarah. She loves meeting new people and has been passionately hosting social gatherings since 2015. She will ensure you feel welcome and included throughout the evening. Her role is to facilitate connections between guests by getting to know you; so you arrive as strangers, and leave having made new friends. 

BONUS: Sarah is also a matchmaker, and is always keeping an eye out for potential matches for her premium clients.

REGISTRATION

7pm Arrive at Garage Geelong, and make your way through the shop to the outdoor area. Look for Sarah and the Mojo Mingle logo.

You'll be warmly welcomed by Sarah and introduced to one or two other guests to get the ball rolling. As your host, Sarah will ensure you have plenty to talk about during the evening by providing you with conversation starter cards; a wonderful way to learn interesting facts about each other.

PRE-EVENT

Dress up theme: Vintage 60's, 70's 80's (present your event ticket and ID at Garage Geelong anytime between now and the event to receive 50% off clothing eg including your costume pieces)

Ice-breaker: Prepare two truths and one lie to share within small groups for our ice-breaker activity. This helps everyone overcome the fear of starting conversations with strangers... allowing you to easily slip into chit chat after we've all shared our stories.

DRINKS

You may purchase drinks from the shop next-door. Pay-as-you-go. 

DINNER

Enjoy a light supper of pizza; served once everyone has arrived (approximately 7:30pm).

Note: Mojo Mingle scouts all venues and activities prior to listing them as events to ensure a quality experience for all. Pizzas are ordered from Crust, who caters for most special diets. Please notify us of your dietary requirements upon checkout. To minimise spread of Covid, food shall not be shared. Each attendee had their own small pizza (value $19).

SCAVENGER HUNT

You'll be divided into small teams. Explore Garage Geelong to find all items on our unique list of quirky items scattered around the shop. Prizes awarded to the fastest team to find all items!

DRESS UP COMPETITION

Come dressed up in vintage theme with items purchased from Garage Geelong OR put your outfit together on the night with treasures found in the shop. Guests vote for best dressed at 8:30pm and the winner gets a prize!

FIREWORKS BY THE WATERFRONT

If all goes to plan (pending Covid-19), the yearly fireworks displays for NYE takes place around 9pm and midnight at Eastern Beach. Invite a bunch of people from the event to accompany you to watch them, or go out down Pakington Street. The Barking Dog is a local favourite.

• Dress code: Vintage dress up eg 60's 70's 80's
• Drinks not included. Bring cash / card to purchase from next door.
• Age group: generally +/-25-55, however if you are older and "young at heart" then you're welcome to join us. If you are younger but "mature for your age" you are also welcome to attend.
• Gender balance: Please do not attend our event if an exact gender balance is important for your enjoyment of this event. We aim to balance the genders however this is not always possible. Attend with an open mind, and a sense of adventure, ready to make new friends and meaningful connections.
• Group size: our events are based on quality of connection, not quantity. Please do not attend our event if you want to meet lots of people. Covid-19 restrictions may also limit the group size eg 50 persons outdoors.

COVID-19 Terms & Conditions

• Face covering (2 ply minimum) is mandatory when a social distance of 1.5 meters is unachievable
• Attendee limits are based on public gathering limits (indoors / outdoors). 
• During Covid-19 restrictions, we have a no hand shake / contact policy.
• Please keep a distance of 1.5 metres between yourself and others at all times when possible.
• Please carry hand sanitiser and apply as required.
• Please do not attend our events if you: are unwell, have a cough, fever, sore throat, fatigue, shortness of breath, cold or flu like symptoms, have tested positive to Covid-19 recently, are waiting for test results, have been in close contact with someone who is a confirmed case of coronavirus or if have been overseas in the last 14 days. Contact us before the event to transfer your ticket to a future event.

In the case that an in-person event is dramatically affected by COVID-19, the event will take place online (Zoom), be postponed, or your ticket may be fully refunded at the discretion of the event organiser.

REFUNDS

No refunds if your circumstances change, or if you change your mind about attending. A transfer is possible; please contact us ASAP when you have found someone to take your place.
